My favorite skin serum duos ✨ As I’ve said before, serums are the #1 way to enhance your skincare routine and get the most out of your ingredients. They help change your skin from the inside out. You want to use these serums either layered over each other (thinner consistency on skin first and thicker consistency will go on top) or in a AM/PM fashion.

CELL TURNOVER (clearing dark spot & fine lines) – Retinol in the PM and Niacinamide in the AM. Both can be used at the same time as well. Layer the niacinamide first and then retinol on top.

COLLAGEN BOOSTING (skin plumping and smoothing) – Vitamin C in the PM and Vitamin E in the AM. Both can be used at same time as well. Layer the Vitamin C first and Vitamin E on top.

BRIGHTENING (overcoming dullness, uneven skin tone, and hyperpigmentation) – Vitamin C in the AM and AHA (glycolic acid, lactic acid, or salicylic acid) in the PM. I would not use these two ingredients on top of each other. Although AHAs are often marketed as safe for all skin types, you’ll want to take care if you have extremely dry and sensitive skin. You may need to gradually work up to daily use to avoid irritating your skin.

BARRIER REPAIR (correct sensitized and irritated skin) – Hyaluronic Acid in the AM and Ceramides in the PM. If laying together, hyaluronic first then ceramides on top.

ACNE SCARS (dark spots and post-acne) – Salicylic Acid in the PM and Green Tea in the AM. If layering, salicylic serum first and then green tea serum.

SKIN SOOTHING (soothing red, irritated, or inflamed skin) – Niacinamide in the AM and Mandelic Acid in the PM. If layering, Niacinamide lays first then Mandelic serum on top.
